'Youth Should Be Used In Creating Entrepreneurs'

The 8th International Business Genius Bangladesh 2023 competition has been held on how business education, hotel and tourism industry in Bangladesh can move forward to keep pace with the modern world.

Federation of Hospitality, Tourism and Event Management (FOHTEM) and Business Genius Bangladesh (BGB) jointly organized this competition on Friday (November 10) at SouthEast University's main campuas. Bangladesh University Grants Commission (UGC) Board Member Professor Dr. Md. Sajjad Hossain was the chief guest of the event.

Workshop, seminar, skill test, business idea presentation, debate, public speaking, professional cooking, video resumes, game shows and cultural competitions were in the programe list.

In the speech of the chief guest, UGC member Professor Dr. Md. Sajjad Hossain said that such festivals and competitions are necessary to properly utilize the youth power of this country. Through this we will be able to create future business leaders.

He said that the organization can be an excellent means of transforming the country's population into manpower. We must move forward by accepting the challenge of leadership.

He thanked the students and guests of the University and Southeast University for organizing the large-scale competition.

At the opening ceremony, BGB and Federation of Hospitality, Tourism and Event Management (FOHTEM) President M A Nahian said in his welcome speech that the college and university students who participated in the program are our future assets. Arrangements that can play one of the roles in creating entrepreneurs by making proper use of these resources.

As the main speaker, Assistant Professor of University of Scholars and Head of Brand and Communication HM Atif Wafik said that we should focus on creating entrepreneurs of the future from the young generation of the country. The business leadership of the future should be created by utilizing the talent of this generation through proper guidance and support.

Nazmul Hasan Russell, manager of Grameen Danone Energy also spoke as the main speaker.

The event was attended by the guests of honor - International celebrity chef Zahida Begum, Head of Food and Beverage, Bangladesh Tourism Corporation and M. Abdullah Al Mamun, Chief Advisor, Business Genius Bangladesh (BGB) and Federation of Hospitality, Tourism and Events. Management (FOHTEM), also had SM Raihan Uddin, Moderator, Southeast Business Innovation Forum as special guest.

The program was presided over by Professor Dr. ANM Meskat Uddin, Adviser (BOT), South East University.

The event was co-hosted by Southeast Business Innovation Forum (SBIF) and national debate organization Bangladesh Debate Warriors (BDW) with the support of Southeast University under the initiative of Shakti Plus. In addition, Transcom Group, Universal College Bangladesh, Barcode, Happy Hut, Togi Fun World, Arunima Resort, Best Western Plus Maya Hotel and other organizations were responsible for sponsoring the event.

Media personalities, corporate personalities, chefs and important people from the tourism industry served as guests and judges for the competition.
